Starting today, all new artists signing up for MOTIVA GROOVE will complete a one-time identity verification process powered by Stripe Identity. This quick verification costs £1.60 and helps us maintain a secure, fraud-free platform.

The music distribution industry has been plagued by fraudulent activity, including fake streams, artificially generated plays, and accounts created with stolen payment information. These activities harm legitimate artists, damage platform relationships with DSPs, and create an unfair playing field.

How Does It Work?
The verification process is simple, secure, and takes just a few minutes:
- Use a PC or Laptop - Make sure you're on a desktop or laptop computer for the best experience.
- Sign Up & Pay - Click any "Sign Up" button and complete the £1.60 payment via Stripe.
- Identity Verification - You'll be redirected to Stripe Identity to verify your identity with a government-issued ID.
- Accept Agreement - Review and accept our distribution agreement.
- Start Distributing - Once verified, you'll be redirected to create your account and start uploading music.
Your Privacy is Protected
We use Stripe Identity, a trusted and secure verification service. Your identity documents are processed by Stripe and never stored on our servers. Stripe is PCI-DSS compliant and meets the highest security standards.
Why £1.60?
The £1.60 fee covers the cost of the Stripe Identity verification service. This is a one-time, non-refundable technical verification cost processed directly by Stripe. We don't profit from this fee - it goes entirely to covering the secure identity verification infrastructure.
This small investment helps us maintain a professional, fraud-free platform where legitimate artists can thrive. Compared to other distributors charging €15-50 per year or €9.99+ per release, our model remains the most affordable option for independent artists.
What About Existing Users?
If you signed up before this change, you're not required to complete identity verification immediately. However, we may require verification in the future for certain actions like withdrawing large amounts or updating payment information.
