How to Choose a Release Date?
By Motiva Groove Team
You've finished your track, and you can't wait to share it with the world. But how do you choose the best release date? There are a lot of factors to consider, and we're here to help.
In this blog post, we'll discuss the best way to plan your release date on Spotify, YouTube, Beatport, Apple Music and other outlets. Let's get started!
Consider Your Audience
When you're planning your release date, the first thing you need to consider is your audience. Where are they most active? What platforms do they use the most? If you're unsure, it's a good idea to ask around or look at your own analytics. Once you know where your audience is, you can start to narrow down your release date options.
Timing Matters
Next, you need to think about when people are most likely to be free to listen to your new track. If you're releasing on a Monday, for example, people might not have as much time to listen during their commute or at work; however, releasing on Mondays increases the chances of being on the first page of the prominent outlets. If you release it on a Friday, people will likely have some free time to check it out.
Important:
We strongly suggest not releasing during the weekends and holidays as prominent stores do not refresh their featured pages on those days.
Watch the Competition
Finally, you need to consider the competition. When are other artists and labels in your genre releasing their new music? If you release on the same day as a major artist, you'll likely get lost in the shuffle. But if you release a week or two before or after them, you might be able to get some more attention.
These factors should help you narrow your release date options and pick the best one for your track. Good luck!

Strongly Recommended: Assisted Dates
As you could have already read, we strongly advise you to upload your release 4 weeks before the exclusive/regular release date, on a Monday or Friday. Therefore leaving the "Assisted dates" checkbox makes a lot of sense. We put in the calendar when uploading the release, wherein green you can see those recommended dates.
